Brown Bag Films (BBF) has created this data protection notice as the controller of applicants’ personal data to demonstrate our firm commitment to privacy and to inform applicants about the data we collect and process in connection with your job application. As part of the recruitment process we collect data including an individual’s contact details, current job information including salary rates, curriculum vitae, work and educational history, referee names, interview notes and interview related documentation. How do BBF obtain this data? Personal data is normally obtained directly from you during the application process. In certain circumstances, it will, however, be necessary to obtain data from external third parties e.g. references from previous employers What is the purpose and use of this data? This data is collected to complete the recruitment process and assess candidate suitability for the role. The processing is necessary to enter into a contract with a potential employee and for our legitimate interests in managing an effective recruitment process in circumstances where such interests are not overridden by the rights and freedoms of employees. What are the consequences of an applicant not providing the data? Where an individual does not provide the requested data, the organisation may be unable to consider their application for employment. With whom is the data shared? The recruitment data is not shared with any third parties. How will my data be kept secure? The organisation will take all reasonable steps to ensure that appropriate security measures are in place to protect the confidentiality of both electronic and manual data. Any personal data processed as part of the recruitment process is retained for 12 months Will I be subject to profiling or automated decision making?
